Cardigan Golf Club offers a variety of practice facilities for use by club members. Build on some expert tuition with a few sessions on the driving range or in the nets. Hone your putting touch on the practice green.
Adjacent to the first tee and over looked by the club house, is the practice green. Minutes spent here before a round or as part of a course of instruction, can help save a number of strokes on the greens around the course. The only way to develop a relaxed stance and that feel for pace and borrow, is through practice and then more practice.
More strokes are lost around the green than from any other facet of the game. It takes time to develop the feel required to manufacture and improvise, the chipping green provides an opportunity to perfect those delicate stroke saving chip shots.
The club is proud of its Academy area, located just beyond the second green. The area has a small 9 hole course for beginners, a practice bunker and an elevated driving range suitable for even the longest hitters. Planning is in progress to further enhance the facility by providing a teaching bay and several covered driving bays.
The practice hole offers a bit more space for those who want to practice approach shots; pitch and runs or chips. Take time to develop skills not easily acquired during a round.
